JEKILLANDORHYDE is a 20 year old artist based near Los Angeles, California. He is inspired by his childhood in Portland, Oregon and the work of artists such as Jackson Pollock, Jean Michelle Basquiat and the street artist RISK.

His abstract style seems to be cluttered at times but each painting tells a story through the layers, and the colors. The colors he uses represent emotions, feelings, thoughts, memories, dreams and so on; while the layers represent the chronology of the story. His favorite mediums are spray paint and acrylic which he will apply to any surface he can get his hands on, particularly recycled woods. Art has interested him since a young age and, except for one art class he took in high school, he is completely self-taught. Photography is a recently developed passion - all the work here is taken on an iPhone and edited through Instagram.
